Compass Jewellery: The perfect gift?

Compass Jewellery: The perfect gift?

History of the Compass:

A compass is a tool that indicates direction, it is an important device for navigation.

The most popular type of compass is the magnetic compass. Historians believe that China were the first to use and develop magnetic compasses, to be used as navigational tools, in the 11th or 12th century. At the end of the 12th century, it was then the western Europeans followed.

When the sun, stars and landmarks could not be seen, it is likely the compass were used as a backup for civilisation to use as a navigational tool.

The Compass has many meanings and symbolise multiple things:

1. Independence

2. Safety

3. Protection

4. Good luck

5. Direction

Does a compass jewellery piece make a perfect gift?

There are many paths a person will take during their life, often no two paths are the same. The wonderful thing about jewellery, is that it is not specific for one person or one occasion. The meaning behind each piece of jewellery, can differ from person to person. Whether a piece is used as a lovely reminder of a memory, a tool to guide them through their current path or reminders they need to carry for the future.

When to gift a compass jewellery piece:

  1. New Beginnings - leaving a relationship, moving to a new city or a life changing event, a compass necklace/bracelet would make a meaningful gift as it gives the reminder that a person is moving in the direction that is right for them.
  2. Graduation – As the compass can symbolise finding your own path and independence, it makes the perfect gift for a graduate.
  3. To a loved one who is about to travel or move overseas, to symbolise direction, safety, protection and good luck during this new adventure in their life.
  4. As a gift to your partner. Symbolising that without them, you would be lost.

Whether your loved one is a necklace lover or a bracelet collector, our delicate compass jewellery is a perfect gift, that represents a heartfelt meaning, no matter the occasion.
